Hello! Welcome to Walsall Mum. This blog is mostly going to be dedicated to my fund-raising work around Walsall, West Midlands. Currently I'm raising money to help Walsall Manor Hospital's Maternity Ward collect enough money to start refurbishing it and making it look and feel good for future mums to enjoy an lovely experience with their birth.
I gave birth at the Manor Hospital in Walsall back in April 2010. The staff were helpful, the delivery suite was nice and my son was well looked after in their safe and clean environment. However the hospital has been given a very modern new building and the Maternity Ward is not moving and shall be staying where they are. I'm looking for kind donations to help raise money so they can give the Maternity Ward some much needed love and bring it into the 21st Century with a lick of paint and new furniture.
Currently I am creating New Mummy & Baby Hampers which will be prizes given away every month. The money made from people entering the competition will go to the Maternity Ward, every last penny! We are still in need of some donations to help make these hampers. If you would like to donate here are some ideas as to what we're looking for:
- Baby Baths
- Nappies
- Essential Newborn Baby Clothes
- Baby Toys
- Gift Card/Vouchers (for Baby or Mummy!)
- Baby Bath Sponges
- Bath Products (for Mummy to enjoy!)
- Bedding for Baby
- Blankets
- Baby Wipes
- Changing Bags
We'd also like to offer in our hampers things for mummy to enjoy. If you are a Salon or a Spa for example we'd love to hear from you about maybe having a special treat for our winner.
We can NOT accept the following:
- Bottles
- Breast Pumps
- Dummies
All products with teats are not allowed. This is because we are working with an NHS Maternity Ward and they cannot show biased towards bottle or breast feeding as it is the mother's right to choose how she wants to feed her baby.
If you would like to donate something to be given away on its own (ie car seat, pushchair) we can arrange that as well.
